The 35th Annual Great Texas River Cleanup of the San Marcos River was a tremendous success. TGCK has been involved in all those years and it's been a privilege. BIG THANKS to Tom and Paula Goynes for riding herd on the event, again, and graciously providing a place to serve the evening meal. Thanks to George and Ann Grant for providing all the mouth-watering brisket and sausage for the 120 participants who ate that evening meal. The cleanup is completely voluntary and the 150 folks who got out there, sometimes neck deep in the water, to get the trash out and then haul it to the collection point at Spencer Canoes are San Marcos River Heroes. The river is smiling. We'll see you next year! ...

I drove out and filmed put in/take out points on the upper Guadalupe River. The upper Guad is an amazing and beautiful 230 mile long river starting the Texas Hill Country and running into San Antonio Bay (Gulf of Mexico). The most scenic sections are the Texas Hill Country areas running from Hunt Tx to Canyon Lake. This upper section is very rain dependent for flow. Spring rains can bring BIG water, know your skill set and research your trip for known portages. Lack of rain can also be a problem and lead to a lot of dragging. Fishing: Guadalupe Bass, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Rio Grande Cichlid, Striped Bass, White Bass, and Rainbow Trout in some areas. Go Explore!Schumacher's Crossing - Ingram Boat Ramp 4.6 miles.I-10 Comfort - James Kiehl Park 6.8 miles.James Kiehl Park - Waring 4 miles.Waring - 1376 Sisterdale 7.8 miles.1376 Sisterdale - 474 Bridge 11.5 miles.www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQIUM6X5plY ...

Nate and Tammy waited patiently for 4 months to happily receive their Wilderness Systems Tsunami 145s – Breeze Blue and Infinite Yellow colors. Paddling lakes around Austin, the Colorado River, and doing some overnighters is their agenda and the Tsunamis are great choices. Ryan lives close to some open water on Onion Creek so he chose the STABLE Wilderness Systems Recon 12 HD pedal drive, Mesa Camo color, for his fisheries. Todd bought a shiny, red Wenonah Spirit II, in T-Formex lay up, to paddle with his girlfriend and her two daughters. Canoes are wonderful multi passenger watercrafts and the Spirit II is the Swiss Army knife of canoes. Mike purchased the Jackson Kayak Mayfly, Rockfish color, to paddle everything in Central Texas. Great choices, everybody! ...
