Winter Fishing on the San Marcos River

Winter fishing is notorious for being slow, however I love this time of year. Cool mornings around 32 degrees slowly warms up to 60 during the day, for enjoyable river fishing all year round here in Central Texas. This trip I focused on top water to start the day specifically using my go to top water Rat. Other baits I often use are 4.8 Keitech with underspin in blue-gill flash color, and a 3/8-1/2oz swim jig white/green with matching trailer works great as well. I am using the Crescent LiteTackle kayak with Werner Corryvreckan paddle, and Astral Sturgeon pfd.
