The San Marcos River is a 72 degree, crystal clear, spring fed river in the heart of Central Texas. On this trip we paddled 5 miles from San Marcos Scout Camp to Shady Grove Campground. The river flow was 224 cfs at the Martindale gauge. We wanted to showcase some of the highlights of this beautiful river and show folks what portages to look out for.
